Cudda Whichoo Momma

In two year old speak, that’s “Cuddle with you Momma” which are some of the sweetest words I’ve ever heard.

Tanner is 100% boy so he rarely slows down but when I am blessed enough for him to slow down for just a few moments, he enjoys cuddling and I love it. I know there will come a time when he no longer wants to be with me, much less cuddle with me, so I am enjoying every second of it.

During some of the funkier winter months, we stayed inside and popped pop corn and watched movies. Tanner’s favorite has become Monsters, Inc which Larry and I could just about quote from memory by now. Although we were never proponents of vegging out, we’ve realized that he needs this as much as we do.

During our weekly viewing (or every couple of days if I'm being honest) of Monsters, Inc. (Tanner calls it Monfers) Larry, Tanner and I get in our comfy clothes, grab a snack and can be found huddled together on the couch with several blankets. It’s really become a sweet time that I look forward to. I hope it's on the agenda for tonight.

I love the little joys of motherhood. They make it all worth it.

Outside the Chicken Box

I realized this morning while sitting at work and going through the email that I had collected since 5pm yesterday that I get probably 3-5 emails daily regarding recipes. I have to admit, I love it!

I get no other junk mail because our firewalls here at work are set so high but these amazing little recipe nuggets squeak past the filter semi undetected.

Each day I look forward to these recipes as they help me with my ‘step out of the chicken box’ fix. I’m sure some of you out there have gone through this too. 101 ways to fix chicken and what else can I cook in a crock pot.

They also add to the excitement of parties and get togethers that will inevitably end up a part of my busy life. Since I love to host, this is also a source of excitement for me.

I love to try new recipes and I especially love appetizers and desserts. I don’t know what it is about them but they hook me. I love looking over the new recipe and imaging if I have the ingredients in my cabinets and what the final product will look and taste like.

I know it’s all kind of silly but as I’m typing this entry I received an email from Pillsbury for Asian Sliders and all I can do is smile and wonder when Asian Sliders will be on the menu at the Gagnon house.

Do you have any recipes that you think I would love? Is there a favorite website that you use? I do have to mention that my top favs are www.allrecipes.com, www.kraftfoods.com and www.pillsbury.com. (sorry the links wouldn't show up, I tried several times but to no avail, advice is welcomed)
